Complex Continuing Care
In recognition of the diverse needs of individuals wishing to access continuing care services, the continuing care service provided in The Royal Hospital Donnybrook has evolved to meet the more complex and specialised needs of residents with high and maximum dependency. We provide comprehensive person centered care to individuals with complex and often fluctuating medical, nursing and therapeutic needs.
Care is planned and delivered by multidisciplinary teams of doctors, nurses and allied health staff in collaboration with the resident, and where appropriate, their family.
Continuing Care for older people is provided in Larches, Oaks and Cedars units. Following the introduction of the Fair Deal scheme on October 27th 2009, individuals wishing to access continuing care on Larches, Oaks and Cedars must make an application to the HSE through their local Nursing Home Support Office. If an individual is assessed as being in need of continuing residential care, their application will be processed by the HSE placement forum. Applicants are then referred by the placement forum to RHD.
