Nutrition & Dietetics

There are two Clinical Nutritionists/Dietitians who provide nutrition and dietetic services (on a prioritised basis) to patients in The Royal Hospital Donnybrook.

The Clinical Nutritionist provides a range of clinical services:

•     Assessment and monitoring of nutritional status
•     Individual diet therapy
•     Group education sessions
•     Education of staff and carers as appropriate
•     Multidisciplinary team-work
•     Addressing catering issues
•     Development of Nutrition Education resources

Nutrition, as a service in the care of older people and adults with a disability, is developing. The hospital is committed to seeking to improve staffing levels and this will help with the development of the service.
