Description of the hospital

The Royal Hospital Donnybrook is a 178 bedded hospital that provides Post-Acute, Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation and General Rehabilitation services, Day Hospital services, Respite and Residential Care services to adults. The hospital is a HSE Section 38 Voluntary Hospital.

Purpose of the post

The Post Holder will work within the Residential Service in the Royal Hospital Donnybrook. The service is a Consultant Geriatrician led multi-disciplinary service aiming to support residents with highly complex medical and nursing needs through support from the multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification / Qualifications and experience

Applicants must, as a minimum, on the closing date for receipt of completed applications:

  • Registered on the active register in the General Division of the Register of Nurses as maintained by the NMBI.
  • Hold a post graduate qualification relevant to the role.
  • Minimum five years post registration experience.
  • At least two years management experience at CNM1 level or above.
  • Possess a high level knowledge of HIQA standards and legislation.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and planning skills.
  • This role is primarily Monday to Friday, however they may be times when you are requested to work outside of normal hours/days in line with service requirements.
  • Desirable Qualifications – Management Qualification (Minimum FETAC level 6)
