Coffee Shop

A coffee shop is located on the ground floor, serving a selction of teas, coffees, cakes, snacks, newspapers, sweets and greeting cards. Mobile phone credit is also available. 

Openign hours are 09:30-16:30 daily.

Smoking & Vaping

The hospital operates a no smoking or vaping policy inside the buildings. A dedicated smoking shelter is located at the back of the hospital. Smoking is not permitted at the entrance or exits of the hospital.  

Television

The majority of bed spaces are wired for a television. Patients may bring their own small TV with headphones if they wish. 

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available throughout the building utilising "RHD Guest Wifi". Staff can provide you with the password. Due to the age of the building and thick walls, some areas have limited WiFi capability. Staff have no control over this. 

Valuables

The hospital is not responsible for any valuables or cash held by patients or residents. We advise that any valuables or excess cash be sent home with a family member or friends. Staff may not hold any cash or valubles for you. 

ATM

The hospital does not have an ATM. However, purchases in the coffee shop may be made using devit/credit cards as well as with cash. The nearest ATM is located in Donnybrook village. 

Fire Safety

We ask that all patients, residents, visitors and staff be aware of their nearest fire exits and to act when instructed by staff in the event of a fire alarm sounding. 

A fire alarm test takes place each Tuesday at 11am. 

Infection Control

We ask that all patients and visitors frequently utilise the alcohol gel supplied throughout the hospital and to wash hands where necessary. Please be advised that the wearing of masks is required by all patients when away from their bedside and at all times for visitors. 

Alcohol 

Patients undergoing rehabiliation are not permitted to bring alcohol into the hospital. 

Library

The patient and resident library is located on the ground floor. You may borrow books from here if you wish. 

Social Activities 

In our residential units social activites are organised by our Activity Co-ordinator. This service is not available in rehabiliation wards. 

Religious Services 

For the latest information on religious services please ask staff on your unit as times are subject to change. 

A prayer/reflection room is located on the ground floor in the main concourse. 

Transport

The hospital operates a transport system for hospital apointments. A fmaily member or friends will be required to escort you to your appointment. 

Appointments not organised or related to your stay in RHD are not covered by our transport service.

Arrangements for residential services should be discussed witht he local Ward Manager.
